Volunteer Surveying, LLC is a full-service land surveying, mapping, and consulting company based out of Paris, Tennessee. We provide an array of complex surveying services to clients throughout the state of Tennessee and Southwest Kentucky. Established in 2015 by Matthew McCrory, our small family-owned business has grown beyond its original one-man business model to the present model which includes 4 survey field staff capable of operating two field crews at one time and a office administrations staff for client support. We continue to grow year after year in order to better meet the demands of our clients and the timelines of their projects. There is no job too large or too small for our staff and we ensure that every project receives the focused attention it deserves regardless of the size.
The Original One-Man Business Model
After graduating from UT-Martin and furthering his education at Murray State University, Matt joined the profession of Land Surveying as a Licensed Surveyor in Training (LSIT) where he spent several years traveling across the United States from San Antonio, TX to West Palm Beach, FL and a few of those years spent at Fort McClellan, AL. While each job gave him great responsibility for very grand projects and he was grateful for the opportunities, with a new baby on the way and no end of traveling in sight, he knew he had to make a change.
Once he was fully licensed in the State of Tennessee, and after receiving advice from family, friends, and mentors, it was time to take the leap of faith. Matt put his whole heart into Volunteer Surveying, LLC and growing it from the ground up. Through years of hard work, dedication, and many sleepless nights, Volunteer Surveying, LLC continues to grow and exceed the milestones and goals set by the staff.

Inspired To Do Better
Volunteer Surveying quickly grew from its original one-man operation to the fully staffed, full-
service business that it is today. With growth comes movement, and we quickly went from the basement in our home, to a one-room office, to our final home base in our 6-office complex located at 5242 Hwy 79N in Paris, TN. From the beginning we have invested in the best surveying equipment, CAD drafting software, and all other modern technology to better serve our clients. We now have an expansion that allows our staff the space they need to thrive and continue to provide the best product to our clients.
While production is foremost, an enormous amount of our time is focused on treating people with integrity and creating an enjoyable culture. Here at Volunteer Surveying, we make a point to ensure it is not full-bore from dusk until dawn every day of the year for our crews. We take pride in getting our work done punctually, but we also encourage a family first approach and we are very respectful of our staffs’ time with their families.
We are honest, we work hard, and we are fully responsible for all outcomes. While we are very pleased with how far we have come, we are hungry for a whole lot more.
